Bed Bug Control
Toronto Canada, Bronx, NY, New York City, and Cincinnati, Ohio
are only a few of the locations that are being heavily infested
with bed bugs. Bed bugs are being found in locations from
hotels, resorts, homes and offices, to fifth wheel trucks,
shopping malls and warehouses. The bed bug pandemic is rapidly
becoming a major problem world-wide. How do we truly implement
bed bug control?
Bed bugs have
been an issue since the beginning of time with documented
evidence that they existed during caveman days. As our
forefathers left the caves and dwellings, the bed bugs quickly
hitch hiked with them. People had nearly wiped out bed bugs
until the eradication of the strong pesticide DDT in the
1950’s. As the world’s mobility increased so did the bed bug
population. It has had steady growth since the early 90’s
however had increased dramatically in the last few years.
Scientist believe that bed bugs have grown immune to pesticides
making them much more difficult to kill. As the human population
increases so does the bed bug population.
The push for
green natural alternative products has been driven by consumer
concerns for pesticide use linked to known carcinogens. These
known carcinogens have people concerned for the safety of their
pets and family. Organic pest control alternatives are starting
to become the norm although many people are unaware that there
are all natural, safe plant extracts that can be used to kill
everything from ants and roaches to fleas and bed bugs. These
essential oil extracts can penetrate the waxy outer covering of
the bed bug and other insect’s exoskeleton. It pierces the shell
and causes damage to the insects nervous and respiratory system
causing death. There is also a bed bug dust that is non-toxic to
humans but is a deadly dehydrant to insects such as bed bugs by
cutting into the exoskeleton of the bed bug.
Natural bed bug
control products kill the life cycle of bed bugs including eggs,
larvae and adults. They are extremely effective when used
properly. It is through proper inspection and treatment that bed
bug infestations can be controlled. It does takes some patience
and a little bit of time to do it effectively and properly.
